Samaa Retreat Center
Samaa Retreat Center is secluded on ten wooded acres just a quick drive from the quaint village of Bigfork, Montana. Nestled between Flathead Lake and the Swan and Mission Mountain ranges, we are surrounded by an abundance of beauty, wildlife and grand big sky views. There really is no place like Montana.
Access to Swan River, Swan Lake, Flathead Lake, Jewel Basin hiking, Glacier National Park, Whitefish Ski Resort, Blacktail Ski Resort and much more are within 10-60 minutes from the property.
Our rooms are clean, smoke-free and consciously curated to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere. King and Queen size pillow-top beds provide the ultimate comfort and support for deep rest while away from home. We have seven bedrooms and five and 1/2 baths. Two of our suites have Sani-Jet jacuzzi tubs and two have soaking tubs, for supreme relaxation.
Meals are NOT included at our retreat center. Inquire to discuss the add-ons and options that are available to meet your lodging needs.
Entire Center Rentals
Are you a retreat facilitator looking to host your own retreat? The entire facility – 7 rooms with 10 beds for a total of 16 guests – is available for wellness retreats. We’d love to help you make your guests feel at home. Contact us to discuss holding your own retreat in this beautiful space!
Check-In/Check-Out:
Check in time is generally 3pm, and check out time at 11am. However these times may be determined for each individual retreat and event according to the needs of both the facility and the guests and will be discussed and determined prior to your arrival in plenty of time for you to plan appropriately.
Cancellation Policy:
Retreat Attendees: A 50% deposit is due to reserve your spot with remaining balance due 21 days prior to retreat start date. If your plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please notify us at least twenty-one (21) days prior to the start date to cancel your reservation. There is a $250 cancellation fee per reservation for changes made 21 days or more in advance. In the event that you must cancel with less than 21 days notice, please understand that you are responsible for your entire program fee. If we can rebook your room(s), a full or partial refund may be made.
Retreat Hosts/Whole House Bookings: A 50% advanced payment is required on WHOLE house bookings and multiple room bookings and for some holidays and special events. In the event that you must cancel with less than forty-five (45) days notice, shorten your stay or check out early, please understand that you are responsible for your entire reservation. If we can rebook the facility, a full or partial refund may be made.
Smoking:
Absolutely no smoking is allowed inside; however designated outdoor smoking areas are available.
Pets:
Please note there is one friendly dog who occasionally stops by – Shaadee – and we don’t allow any other pets at the Retreat Center.
Children:
The retreat center is a place for rest and relaxation. You may not find it conducive for young children nor are discounts available, as prices are set per person. Items lost, broken, or stained will incur an additional fee after checkout.
Damages:
Damages or excessive housekeeping will incur an additional fee at checkout. If the room cannot be rented the same day that you check out, a one (1) day fee will apply until the situation is resolved and available to rent. Please consider how lovely and clean the room was when you arrived. It should be in the same condition when you leave.

The Samaa Retreat Center is 3.5 miles from quaint downtown Bigfork and Flathead Lake and 45 minutes from the west entrance to Glacier National Park.
We recommend calling 511 for any road construction that could cause delays.
You’ll see that 93N seems the most direct from MISSOULA however 83N is the most scenic—to get to Hwy 83N, take Interstate 90E from Missoula, exit 109 (Bonner/Great Falls) to Hwy 200E, turn left on 83N towards Seeley Lake and Swan Lake for a scenic drive.
Once you pass Swan Lake, turn left on 209. Watch for the blinking light at N. Ferndale and Ferndale Firehall – you’ll also see our sign on the right side. Turn right onto N. Ferndale, drive 1 block, turn right onto Aero Lane (you’ll see our Lotus / Buddha sign here). Go straight down Aero Lane, do not turn left, and continue to 311 Aero Lane.
OTHERWISE from 93N:
Drive up from Missoula to Polson, the south end of Flathead lake—turn right onto 35N and drive about 30 miles North to Jct. 209 blinking light. Turn right, drive 3.3 miles to the next blinking light at N. Ferndale and Ferndale Firehall – you’ll also see our Samaa Retreat Center sign on the left side of the road. Turn left onto N. Ferndale, drive 1 block, turn right onto Aero Lane (you’ll see our Lotus / Buddha sign here). Drive straight down Aero Lane, do not turn left, until you reach 311 Aero Lane.
Turn right out of the airport on Rte. 2. Drive 6.5 miles. Turn left on 35 South (4-way intersection). Drive 20 miles South towards Bigfork. Go over the bridge past the 4-way lighted intersection that says “Bigfork Village.” Look for blinking lights and turn left on Jct. 209 Swan / Seeley Lake. Drive 3.3 miles to N. Ferndale Rd. You’ll see our Samaa Retreat Center Sign on the left side of the road.
Turn left at the blinking light, drive 1 block, turn right onto Aero Lane (you’ll see our Lotus / Buddha sign here.) Drive straight down Aero Lane, do not turn left, and continue to 311 Aero Lane.
Take 93 South to 82 East (Bigfork sign) turn left. Go to the end of 82, about 6 miles. Turn right on 35 South. Drive about 4 miles, turn left on Jct. 209E. Drive 3.3 miles to N. Ferndale – you’ll see our Samaa Retreat Center sign on the left side of the road. Turn left at the blinking light.
Drive 1 block, turn right onto Aero Lane (you’ll see our Lotus / Buddha sign here), and drive straight down Aero Lane. Continue straight, do not turn, until you arrive at 311 Aero Lane.
Exit the park on Rte 2, drive 15 miles to the Intersection 206 East, turn left at the light. Drive 10 miles to the end, turn left on Hwy 35 South. Drive south on 35 (14 miles) PAST the left turn for downtown Bigfork Village going over the bridge with the lake on your right and the bay on your left. Take a left onto Hwy 209.
Drive 3.3 miles to N. Ferndale – you’ll see our Samaa Retreat Center sign on the left side of the road. Turn left at the blinking light.
Drive 1 block, turn right onto Aero Lane (you’ll see our Lotus / Buddha sign here), and drive straight down Aero Lane. Continue straight, do not turn, until you arrive at 311 Aero Lane.
